Job Title: Part-Time Play Workers & Activity Professionals

 

Location:  Lyons Hall Primary School, Braintree


Pay: £10.50 – £13.50 per hour (based on experience & qualifications)
Job Type: Part-Time

Hours: 3-6pm Monday to Friday (15 Hours per Week)

Our team is the heartbeat of what we do, and we're now looking for enthusiastic Play Workers and Activity Professionals to join us!

 

The Role:

As a Play Worker or Activity Professional, you'll play a vital role in delivering exciting activities and ensuring the children in our care are happy, engaged, and safe. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is looking for rewarding part-time work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and engage children in fun and age-appropriate activities (indoors and outdoors)

  • Support the planning and delivery of creative, physical, and play-based sessions

  • Provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all children

  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction

  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members

  • Assist with setting up and packing away activities and resources

  • Follow all safeguarding and health & safety policies and procedures

 

About You:

  • Passionate about working with children

  • Friendly, reliable, and energetic

  • Team player with good communication skills

  • Able to work independently and use initiative when needed

  • Committed to safeguarding and child welfare

 

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Previous experience in childcare, education, youth work, or sports coaching

  • Relevant childcare or playwork qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3)

  • Paediatric First Aid and/or Safeguarding training (training can be provided)

 

Working Hours:​

  • After School: Typically 3:00pm – 6:00pm

  • Opportunities to work additional hours during school holidays
